STUDENT SCRUM CERTIFICATE OVERVIEW

One-Day Certification Workshop for Student Teams

The Authentic Learning Alliance is proud to partner with Agile Classrooms to offer this one-day, hands-on workshop that introduces students to Agile Scrum in a fun and engaging way, empowering participants with the tools and mindset to collaborate effectively on team projects. Whether working on authentic learning experiences, STEM challenges, or school-wide initiatives, students will gain practical skills to organize, plan, and reflect using industry-aligned agile practices. No test, no pressure, just an immersive experience in teamwork, problem-solving, and self-management.

Upon completion, students earn their Student Scrum Certificate credential through Agile Classrooms.

Suggested Participation: Educators, middle school, high school, or early college students working on group projects for students seeking Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) as part of their career and technical education program.

Learning Objects

By the end of the workshop, students will:

  • Understand the Agile Mindset and its benefits for collaboration and adaptability.

  • Describe the Scrum Framework including roles (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Team), events, and artifacts.

  • Use a Task Board/Sprint Board to visualize their team’s work.

  • Participate in Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

  • Practice giving and receiving feedback to improve team performance.

  • Apply Scrum to a mini-project simulation, managing tasks from start to finish.

  • Reflect on how Scrum can help them in school projects, extracurriculars, or future careers.
